Pictures on the left show an original Williams (HSA repaired Stage 2) playfield and the pictures on the right side of the screen show a new CPR reproduction Whirlwind playfield.  Both playfields were HSA clear coated.  CPR did an excellent job with the new reproduction playfields except for the inserts.  CPR does not prime their playfields before they silkscreen.  The Williams original playfields are primed with a non-clear primer that makes the inserts have a frosted look.  The original ‘frosted’ inserts make the inserts easier to read than the non-frosted CPR inserts.   The only real difference (other than the inserts) that I can see is that the CPR playfield has some colors a little darker than the Williams original.
