Here is a Mirco reproduction Attack From Mars playfield.  We fixed the “Jackpot” inserts and re-clear coated it.  No stickers, overlays or decals were used in this restoration.  These Mirco AFM playfields are made with an upper layer of plywood that is not as hard as the American Hardwoods brand that other companies have used.  This softer wood WILL dimple.  Clear coating these playfields will NOT prevent dimpling.  Urethane clear coat flexes (just like it does on your vehicle bumpers) so if the wood is soft it will still dimple.
